The Village Hall is situated in the centre of the village in Dower House Lane. Originally a First World War training hut, it provides a communal meeting place and focus for social activities such as coffee mornings, harvest lunches, bridge, dances and other entertainments. It also acts as the venue for Parish Meetings. The hall houses interesting items of village memorabilia and is well equipped with collapsible 6ft tables, chairs, crockery and glassware all of which is available for private hire.

To help meet its running costs, many residents kindly give a small sum each year as part of the ‘Friends of the Village Hall’ scheme. This enables the hall to run events at minimal cost and not focus constantly on fund-raising. In return, donors have one free use of the hall and their names are displayed on the ‘Friends’ list of benefactors displayed in the hall. Their support demonstrates the affection many residents have for this tangible piece of village history.

The hall is run by a small committee as shown below. If you would like further information, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Wiltshire Council Awards Grant

The village hall's flat roof covering was replaced in Autumn 2016.  This work was made possible by a generous grant from Wiltshire Council's South West Area Board and we are grateful for their generous support.
